These are some assorted side projects I've worked on during my college career that aren't directly related to interior design, but showcase my skills in crafting and with the Adobe Creative Cloud.
Letterform Studies: The objective of this project was to explore how characters look in different typefaces, and exploring ways to create abstract shapes out of interesting characters. The final result was a letterform sequence where the character begins as an abstract shape and slowly reveals itself as it progresses.
Road Signs Project: The goal of this project was to practice communicating ideas in a way that is fast and easy to comprehend. The caption on each photo explains what each sign is meant to convey.
Face Off Project: This team project focused on craftmanship and costume design as we were asked to design some kind of extension of our bodies to represent a duality. My partner and I chose to represent the ocean and the desert, and we wrote a script to go along with our costumes that described the ocean and desert as a contrast of life and death: the ocean is full of life but dying from plastic waste, while the desert often means death to humans but many creatures thrive in the dry heat. My ocean cape is constructed from old prom dresses bought at a thrift store, and the coral shoulder piece was made by using spray insulation to create the branches, attached to shoulder pads made from Worbla thermoplastic. I also fashioned a seashell crown using some old shells from my room attached to a wire headband.
Analog Game Design Project: The goal of this project was to work with a team to invent a unique analog game. Our game, Locked In, is inspired by the trend of escape rooms as well as the classic board game Clue. The objective of the game was to be the first person to collect all four keys and escape your character's designated room, and each character has unique special skills on their cards that can help them reach their goal. To showcase our art skills, we also created walls that match each character's room, and can be placed around the board to make a more confined space.
Photoshop Project Group: This was my final project for a Photoshop class I took through my Scholars Program at OSU. The objective was to demonstrate our knowledge of Photoshop by taking one image and editing it in four different ways. From left to right, my edits were adding a masked image (the coffee beans), adding shapes and text to make a color palette, changing the color of the coffee, and making a GIF.
The Boo Radley Society Buttons: These are some buttons I designed for National Button Day. They were passed out to people on campus by The Boo Radley Society, a student organization that aims to spread happiness by performing random acts of kindness.
